How QR code technology can replace guest book

In this pandemic time, there are many business field that collapse, with the lockdown condition that doesn’t allow us to do business as usual. We are finding our self turn our head upside down to be able survive.

Not just office, entertainment, retail or restaurant business that is highly impacted, but “events” business are taking a beating too. When we are still in a lock down, all large scale events are canceled without any clear date when it will continue or rearrange.

Now how QR code technology helps? This topic came out after doing project for wedding events. We discuss how we can comply with Government regulation about holding an event with a quite amount of people attending. Beside the standard 1 meter distance, wash hands and wearing masks. It turns out that the guest book stand where guest are filling out their name and inserting envelope to the moneybox are still not comply with the rules.

Not just that the hard copy wedding invitation itself are not safe and can be the media to spread virus. So we think about the system that can avoid guest to received hard copy wedding invitation and still can have something to act as an ID or invitation.

This is where QR code technology came in. with the help of QR code and our web engineers. We manage to develop an RSVP web form that can be shared with a simple link on Whatsapp group or a wedding landing page on a website.

What it the different with this RSVP form? It generate unique QR code that contain guest data and enough information for us to extract later on at the wedding day.

How we extract their data, simple… just use your phone barcode scanner, choose QR code and then next step is data processing in related website. Guest book now is very simple with QR scanning. Guest don’t have to sign or fill anything with pen and books. Just show their QR code that is sent by our system to their respective email.

The event now fully comply with the Government rules to prevent the Covid-19 spread.
